KILLEEN, TX — The Women's Army Corps Veterans Association delivered $1,500 in donations to the Killeen Independent School District to help lower student breakfast and lunch debt on Wednesday.

The donations came from 25 News and the Scripps Howard Foundation, which contributed $1,000 and the Exelon Corporation, who contributed $500.

The donation was made as part of the veteran organization's Kid Inspired Nutritional Development (K.I.N.D.) program. They are also selling t-shirts to raise additional funds.

The WACVA plans on making a quarterly donation to Killeen ISD. The school district feeds all students who enter the lunch line, but uses the donations to clear debts when student meal accounts are empty in addition to their own general fund.
