HARKER HEIGHTS, TX — A man charged with sexual assault in Harker Heights was indicted on Wednesday.

According to the affidavit, on June 19, the victim said she drove to Wet Willie's at 400 West Veterans's Memorial Blvd. in Harker Heights. She then had two alcoholic beverages and began to walk out of the restaurant. She was going to get an Uber, but a man who was later identified as 29-year-old Rufus Anderson, said he would give her a ride to her hotel.

On the way to her hotel, Anderson stopped the car and sexually assaulted the victim. The victim stated that she told him to stop, and then kicked Anderson.

The victim said Anderson didn't stop, according to the affidavit.

The next thing the victim remembers is Anderson driving her back to Wet Willie's. She then realized that she did not have her purse or her cell phone. She has still not recovered her belongings, which had about $500, credit cards and her driver's license.

The victim then went to Baylor Scott and White for her injuries.

Detectives went to speak with the manager at Wet Willie's and she said Anderson was a regular customer. They later had a photo of Anderson and compiled a line-up so the victim could tell detectives who he was.

The victim pointed out Anderson.

Anderson was arrested and charged with sexual assault on July 4.

He was booked into the Bell County Jail. His bond is set at $100,000.
