KILLEEN, TX — Killeen Police are investigating after a man shot at an officer before taking his own life Tuesday.
Killeen Police officers were dispatched to the area of Westcliff Rd. and Caprice Dr. just after 7pm in reference to a 911 call about man with a gun and possibly in a mental health crisis.
When one of the officers arrived on scene, he located the man who then shot towards the officer, according to police.
Chief Charles Kimble told 25 News the officer then chased him to Caprice Dr. where he encountered another officer.
Officers attempted to talk with the man and get him to surrender when he took his own life.
The investigation is still ongoing as police try to find out more information on the man.
The officer was not injured, according to Killeen Police.
