TEMPLE, TX — Line dancing classes held in Temple are drawing in a crowd of students. The country western dancing has proven benefits for overall health and wellbeing.

“It helps to improve people’s memory. It helps, because you’re learning new things,
You’re getting your brain to talk to your feet, learning the routines, it helps to increase your coordination, it helps with your balance, we’ve had a lot of people say it helps them just in getting out and getting active,” said Betty Hartman, Line Dancing Instructor.

While the choreography may seem tricky, teachers break down the moves step by step.

All abilities are invited to join. Students must be 16-years or older.

The classes are held several times weekly at Sammons Community Center. They are sponsored by the city of Temple.
