KILLEEN, TX — The Killeen Police Department said they have located a suspect vehicle used in a hit-and-run that left a man dead Saturday night.
They said they found the operator of the vehicle in the home where the Tahoe was at. The case is being forwarded to the Bell County District Attorney’s Office for review.
They would like to thank the public for tips that helped find the vehicle in this case.
Around 7:19 p.m. on Saturday, December 21, officers were called out to the 1000 block of Jasper Road after receiving a 911 call about a crash involving a pedestrian and vehicle.
When officers arrived, they found 53-year-old Michael Dean Cook lying in the roadway. He was taken to the Carl R. Darnall Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
Cook succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 8:56 p.m. by Justice of the Peace Daryl Peters.
Killeen PD has determined the suspect vehicle is a pewter or lighter color 2000-2006 Chevy Taho. There will be minimal damage to the front right headlight.

A reward of up to $1,000 in cash is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of the person(s) responsible.
