KILLEEN, TX — A veteran police officer was indicted and turned herself in on charges of injury to a child on Thursday.
Police said Sarah Hydorn, a veteran of the Killeen Police Department for six years, turned herself into the Bell County Jail on Thursday.
The allegations were initially reported to the Harker Heights Police Department. The Bell County Grand Jury issued the indictment on Wednesday.
Killeen police said due to the indictment, Hydorn was placed on administrative leave without pay.
"This temporary leave is not intended to reflect an opinion on the merits of the case. It is in accordance with Civil Service Law. The department will conduct a thorough investigation into this matter," said Chief Kimble.
No further information or comments will be released at this time due to the case being open, according to police.
Hydorn's bail has been set at $25,000.
