KILLEEN, TX — The Killeen Police Department will increase traffic enforcement through the end of the year.

The department, in partnership with the Texas Department of Transportation, will promote traffic safety by increasing traffic enforcement throughout the remainder of Fiscal Year 2020.

The department received a Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) grant, which will allow the extra enforcement.

Officers will patrol areas identified as having a higher volume of serious injury and fatality crashes.

In addition, additional resources will be committed to specific dates.

The extra enforcement will begin on Friday, December 13, 2019, and last until New Year's Day.
