KILLEEN — In a joint investigation with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Killeen Police Department Violent Crimes Unit, the bank robbery suspect was identified and arrested.
The suspect was located in rural Bell County and with the assistance of the FBI and the Bell County Sheriff’s Department SWAT Team, the suspect was taken into custody without incident early Saturday morning.
The suspect was identified as Kevin Smith, 47.
According to police, at approximately 12:56 p.m., police received a 911 call in reference to a bank robbery at 1st National Bank at 4304 E. Central Texas Expressway.
Officers were told that Smith entered the bank, approached the teller and presented a note demanding money.
The teller complied and the suspect fled in a black pickup truck.
The suspect is described as a man in his 50s, approximately 5’6-5’8 and weighing approximately 150 pounds. He had a mustache and a goatee.
He was last seen wearing a black coat with a plaid scarf, a multi-color shirt, black pants and a black ball cap.
