KILLEEN, TX — Three teenagers who were arrested this month for robbing a rideshare driver in Killeen have been indicted. One of the teenagers attacked the driver.

On October 12, Killeen police responded to a call about an aggravated robbery in progress at the intersection of John Helen and Founder.

Officers spoke with the victim who said she was working as a driver for 'get u there' when she picked up three males at 5411 Eagles Nest Dr.

After she picked them up, she told police one of them pulled out a gun, put it to her head and said to give him money.

She said he then hit her in the side of the head and told her that he was going to kill her if she didn't give him the money.

Then, she says, she grabbed for the gun when one of the suspects went to break into the center console.

She told police that one of the suspects then grabbed her phone and laptop and the three suspects fled from the location on foot.

At the time of the report, the victim provided a description of the suspects and as officers arrived in the area, they observed one person that matched the description.

He was identified as DeMarcus Rashard Jones. Jones was arrested, taken into custody and later informed of his rights, which he waived.

In an interview, Jones admitted to the robbery and said his brother, Denzel Brishard Jones, and a friend named Jazzreal Izell Ellis were with him and participated in the robbery.

Jones stated that they decided to rob someone because they needed money for food.

During the investigation, police obtained security footage from a nearby home that shows where the victim picked up DeMarcus Jones, Jazzreal Ellis and Denzel Jones.

From the video, police say they were able to compare images from another robbery in which Ellis is a suspect -- and they observed that they appeared to be the same person.

The detective was also able to determine that the phone number calling to request the driver from 'get u there' was associated with Denzel Brishard Jones.

The detective requested arrest warrants be issued for the three suspects for the felony offense of aggravated robbery.
