KILLEEN, TX — The Killeen Police Department is increasing patrols along I-14 and and SH-195 to promote traffic safety.
The patrols are in partnership with the Texas Department of Transportation and will be in effect throughout the remainder of Fiscal Year 2021.
Killeen PD says the increased enforcement is possible through a comprehensive Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) grant.
Officers will be allowed to patrol key areas that have a higher volume of serious injury and fatal crashes in order to enforce traffic laws.
Killeen PD will focus on:
- Interstate Highway 14 (including service roads) from State Highway 195 east to Rosewood Drive, 4.3 miles
- State Highway 195 from FM 3470 (Stan Schlueter Loop) south to Chaparral Road, 3.98 miles
