The Killeen Chamber of Commerce is hosting a public presentation of data collected through a study designed to evaluate the future growth of the city.
Chamber of Commerce Research Director Jennifer Hetzel said that the study was commissioned to better understand how Killeen can take advantage of the population growth the city is experiencing.
“They’ll be talking about demographic or population trends as well as housing market trends for Killeen, Bell County, as well as Coryell and Lampasas counties,” Hetzel said.
The 14 Forward Foundation spearheaded the study with the support of the city of Killeen and Killeen ISD.
“We also had them look at housing trends. And you know, the types of housing we have and how much and kind of analyzed all of those things. So they will give us insight into those things and what we should do with that data moving forward,” Hetzel said.
Hetzel said Killeen ISD’s support for the study is reflective of the District’s need for expansion.
“The school district was a partner in this. They are actually very interested in seeing where the population is growing so they know where to build new schools and invest,” Hetzel said.
The public presentation will be held at Killeen City Hall at 2 p.m. on Wednesday.
