North Killeen local resident, Jacqueline Hewitt tells her story of living in North Killeen and shares how Killeen Creator Garden has saved her health and her pockets.

The non-profit organization Killeen Creators was created to address the food insecurity issue in North Killeen. Not only are the residents in the area lacking the means to get good food, to be specific: there are no major grocery stores in the area, and most residents have a hard time getting transportation outside of their vicinity.

Killeen Creators seeks to address that problem, the Vice Chair, James McWilliams said, "Its all free, take what you need and give what you can."

How does it work? Residents in the area can stop by the garden at anytime and pick ripe produce. All is asked is that they donate seeds or time only if they can.

There are three community gardens , their addresses in North Killeen are as follows:
1410 Bundrant Drive
503 W Avenue J
