TEMPLE, TX — Crews will close one lane at a time on northbound I-35 in Temple starting at exit No. 299 on Saturday. This is to shift traffic to the new northbound lanes.
The closure will allow workers to stripe the new pavement, reset concrete barrier and shift northbound traffic onto the new northbound pavement from S. Loop 363 to Nugent Ave.
During the work, the entrance ramp under 57th Street will be closed, and the new entrance will be opened in its permanent position. The new northbound frontage road north of Ave. H will also open.
The current temporary exit No. 301 will close and the permanent exit to Central Ave. and Adams Ave. will open.
Exit No. 302 at Nugent Ave. will also open its permanent exit, as well as a northbound entrance ramp south of Nugent Ave.
The closures begin at 8 p.m. Saturday and reopen just before noon on Sunday.
TxDOT is warning drivers to be aware of the construction through March 9-10. They said remember to obey all warning signs and traffic control equipment in the work areas.
This work is planned weather permitting, according to TxDOT.
