Harker Heights fire displaces two families, injures two others

HARKER HEIGHTS, TX — A structure fire in Harker Heights displaced two families and injured two people Monday morning.

Harker Heights Fire Department says the structure fire was at 1402 Pima Trail around 12:29 a.m.

The first units arrived and found moderate smoke appearing with no visible flame.

A “fast attack” method was initiated and the fire was located within the kitchen.

It was extinguished within minutes of arrival but the fire caused extensive damage to the kitchen and cabinet area.

As a result of the fire, two families and all utilities were turned off to the structure.

The firefighters that responded to the scene were not injured, but two occupants did sustain injuries during the incident.

The Fire Marshal’s office says they determined the fire to be of an accidental nature
