TEMPLE, TX — A Temple nurse has a new title to add to her belt.

Not too long ago, House Bill 1869 expanded Governor Gregg Abbott's EMS and Trauma Advisory Council, allowing for two nursing and two paramedic appointed positions to be added to the board.

The new emergency nurse position will be filled by someone from right here in Central Texas.

25 News had the chance to sit down with Cassie Campbell just days after she was appointed.

Campbell has worked for Baylor Scott & White for two decades.

On Friday the Director of Nursing at McLane Children's Medical Center added the new title to her belt.

"[I'm] honored to be able to serve and do this. This was something that took a lot of time to start the work on and just to kind of bring it to fruition was just like a dream," said Campbell.
