KILLEEN — The funeral services have been set for a 17-year-old killed during a dispute.
At approximately 11:52 p.m. on Feb. 16, officers responded to the 1300 block of Covey Lane on Saturday after a report of shots fired.
When officers arrived they learned there was a disturbance between multiple people and shots were fired. The shooting victim, 17-year-old Obadiah Bush, died from his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital at 1:53 a.m. on Sunday.
According to police, 21-year-old Darius York and 17-year-old Zamante Alvis were identified as suspects in the case and are charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. This was the first homicide in the city of Killeen for 2019.
Alvis was arrested through the efforts of the U.S. Marshal's Service and the Killeen Police Department. His bond was set at $1 million.
Visitation for Bush is scheduledfor 9 a.m. on Feb. 25 at the Harper-Talasek Chapel located at 506 N. 38th Street.
