A GoFundMe page "In Loving Memory of Theo Key" has been created for the family of a man who drowned in Lake Belton this week.

21-year-old Theodore Key drowned in Lake Belton on July 29, according to police.

"Theo Key died a hero trying to save the life of another," says Anna Clark, the fundraiser organizer. "He was a son, a brother, and a future father of a baby boy. These funds will go directly to the family to help with expenses."

Temple Fire says the call came out around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday for a man who reportedly went under the water and did not resurface.

Multiple fire departments searched the water for several hours that night.

Key's body was recovered Thursday night.

The GoFundMe has raised over $26,000 in just one day.
