KILLEEN, TX — Four Killeen ISD students have tested positive for COVID-19 as of Monday, according to the district.

Two students at Killeen High School tested positive for COVID-19, but the cases are not related, Killeen ISD Chief Communications & Marketing Officer Taina Maya said.

Venable Village Elementary and Bellaire Elementary have one active case each.

KISD returned to in-person instruction on Aug. 31.

The district began tracking employee COVID-19 data since March 16, 2020, and student data since August 17, 2020.

Students and staff who have tested positive for COVID-19 or who have recently had close contact with a person with COVID-19 must not return to school until they meet the Return to Campus Criteria.

Additionally, students and staff must not come to school with a fever of 100.0 or higher, and must not come to school until they have been fever-free, without the use of fever-reducing medication, for at least 24 hours.
