FORT HOOD, TX — A Fort Hood soldier has died from injuries sustained while conducting maintenance on a fighting vehicle.
According to officials, 22-year-old Pfc. Mason Webber from Marion, Iowa entered the Army in March 2018 as a Bradly Fighting Vehicle System Maintainer. He had been assigned to 4th Squadron, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division since August 2018.
Pfc. Webber died on September 5 after sustaining injuries while conducting maintenance on a Bradley Fighting Vehicle at Fort Hood.
Webber's awards and decorations include the National Defense Service Medal and the Army Service Ribbon.
Officials say the incident is under investigation by the U.S. Army Combat Readiness Center.
