TEMPLE, TX — A family has been displaced after a house fire in Temple Wednesday evening.
Temple Fire & Rescue was dispatched at 6:20 p.m. to reports of a structure fire in the 1000 block of South 49th Street.
When crews arrived, they saw heavy smoke and flames coming from the west side of a house. Firefighters were able to gain entry and quickly extinguish the blaze. The fire was under control by 6:43 p.m.
Everyone in the home was able to escape uninjured. The Red Cross is assisting the two adults and teenage child that have been displaced.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Temple Fire & Rescue responded with a 2-Alarm response, which includes seven fire apparatus, and 20 personnel. The Temple Police Department and Temple EMS were also on-scene.
