KILLEEN, TX — The Epically Geeky Expo is in town.
People traveled from across the Central Texas area to enjoy the weekend's festivities.
Guests shared that the expo gives them the chance to be exactly who they want to be.
The expo featured vendors, programs, panels, food and more.
"Vendors and artists selling some great things they've made themselves or that are geeky in nature," said event founder and vendor liaison Jennifer Hetzel. "We also have tons and tons of programs for everything from how to make your own props for costuming to how to draw and what the comic books are and everything like that. And then we just have people walking around in costume having a lot of fun."
One of the many events included a Q & A and performance from "Rupaul's Drag Race" star Cynthia Lee Fontaine.
Whether it was live action role-playing or cosplaying, the people at the Epically Geeky Expo shared the festivities give them the chance to play the part of whoever they would like to be.
"We're all supportive out here and it's a good chance to go, 'I love this character. I'm going to dress up as this character and be this character.' And everybody's going to be like that is awesome. So it's like a family out here."
"Most of all how happy and pleased and satisfied everybody is to come just only dressed up and present a different character something fun something happy you know what I mean and I think that's what makes you know this festival epic," said Fontaine.
Saturday's expo hours were 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. The last day to join the fun is Sunday. The expo will continue from noon to 6 PM. Proceeds raised from the event will go toward CTC scholarships and programs.
