BELL COUNTY, TX — The Bell County Commissioners Court held a special meeting to announce the new justice of the peace. It is to fill the seat of Claudia Brown.
They announced that Daryl Keith Peters will fill the seat of justice of the peace.
Claudia Brown was removed from her seat as a Justice of the Peace in Bell County early February after a jury found her to be incompetent.
A petition for Brown's removal came after she set a record-breaking $4 billion bond for a Killeen murder suspect back in 2017.
Since Brown's removal, her duties have been covered by Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke.
