CTX agencies participate in Great Texas Warrant Roundup

TEMPLE, TX — Nearly 300 law enforcement agencies across the state, including Temple and Copperas Cove, are joining forces to bring people into compliance with court orders.

People who have an active warrant for unpaid fines or non-compliance of community service have already been notified to approach their respective municipal court.

If they haven’t, police officers will go to their business or home this month and take them to the court to stand before a judge.

This is part of the yearly effort known as the Great Texas Warrant Roundup.

“It is absolutely the last resort. Folks who come in voluntarily have more options. It's easier to work with someone who will volunteer to come on in,” Temple Municipal Judge Kathleen Person said.

Each person then has the discretion to send someone to jail, if they are brought in as part of the roundup.
