COPPERAS COVE, TX — After they participated in the "Fill the Boot" fundraiser last week, Copperas Cove firefighters found a donation that was not the pocket change they expected.
Firefighters shared on Friday they believe they were given a donation by mistake.
"And while we were out doing the campaign on the east side of town out near H-E-B, one of the wonderful citizens that had made a contribution to us with their change, also mistakenly dropped their ring into one of our boots," said Gary Young, deputy fire chief for the Copperas Cove Fire Department.
At this point, the ring has not been claimed.
