BELL COUNTY, TX — A construction project is set to begin on a stretch of SH 195 starting Monday, Aug.12 and will continue through the end of the year.
Barricades and warning signs will be set out August 12. Work will begin later in the week, or the following week, on construction of the northbound and southbound turnarounds at the SH 195 (Fort Hood Street) and FM 3470 (Stan Schlueter Loop) intersection.
Pavement work and removal/upgrade of barriers is scheduled for the end of August through early December 2019.
The underpasses, pavement repair and then asphalt overlay projects will cover 13 miles of SH 195 from FM 3470, south, to the Bell County line.
Drivers should expect to see traffic control personnel, periodic lane closures and delays on SH 195 from FM 3470, south, to the Bell County line, said TxDOT.
Work is scheduled between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.,Monday through Friday.
This is an $8.4 million project undertaken by Texas Materials Group, Inc. of Cedar Park. It is scheduled to be completed, weather permitting, by end of winter in 2019, said TxDOT in a release.
TxDOT cautions drivers to be alert for construction personnel and equipment.
