TEMPLE, TX — A state-of-the-art park complex to play and watch sports is coming to Temple.
Crossroads Park construction is almost finished, according to the City of Temple's Facebook page.
The recreational complex is expected to be an economic generator. It will also serve as a catalyst for sports tourism.
Construction on the complex began in 2018 and will be open this fall. It is consisted of approximately 260-acres. It is in the west central area of Temple.
The complex will host a variety of sports including: soccer, softball, tennis, lacrosse, rugby, ultimate Frisbee and flag football.
A hike and bike trail will surround the facility and the 27-hole disc golf course will connect to Pepper Creek Trail.
There will also be a regional detention pond that will serve as a storm water protection to the park, restrooms, playground, landscaping and concession stands.
