KILLEEN, TX — The Texas Veterans Land Board is inviting the community to the burial of an unaccompanied veteran.
The community is invited to the burial of A1C Ronald Padget Benoto.
Benoto was born on November 26, 1936. He served in the United States Air Force from December 2, 1953 to October 3, 1957.
Benoto received the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
According to the TVLB, Benoto is not expected to have anyone attend his burial. He will receive military honors. The TVLB says if no next-of-kin is present at the burial, the On-Site Representative of the Veterans Land Board will accept the United States flag on Benoto's behalf.
The board is asking for the community to attend Benoto's burial to ensure "no veteran is ever left behind." His burial will be held on Tuesday, September 3 at 11 a.m. at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.
