KILLEEN, TX — The Take the Streets Back march kicked off Saturday morning in Bell County.

Event organizer Andrea Hasberry shared the march was all about putting an end to violence in Killeen.

"What made me start this was in these [Bridgewater Retreat] apartments right here, a boy got killed," said Hasberry. "And after his killing, there was another killing and another killing."

The march began at the Bridgewater Retreat Apartments around 9 a.m. From there, the group made a pit stop at Conder park to listen to a guest speaker and the march ended at the Killeen Community Center around noon.

"What I hope to happen is people see that they do have someone that will stand for them," said Bryan King, who also helped organize the event.

Saturday marked the first time the team held the march and well over 100 people stopped by to show their support.
