KILLEEN, TX — The City of Killeen is offering to recycle your Christmas tree for free!
The program is the City's effort to keep live Christmas trees from landfills. The trees are chipped and shredded on site and offered back to participants as mulch for use on their lawns or gardens.
Residents looking to have their Christmas tree recycled can bring them to the Killeen Special Events Center, located at 3301 South W.S. Young Drive, on January 4 fro 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
All ornaments, lights, tinsel and other decorations must be removed prior to dropping off trees.
