KILLEEN, TX — People all over the world are protesting the governor of Puerto Rico, and some people in Killeen joined in Monday night.

A large crowd gathered off South Fort Hood Street to stand in solidarity with the protesters in Puerto Rico.

With chants and songs, they joined other mass protests- calling for the immediate resignation of Governor Ricardo Rosselló.

Organizers of the protest in Killeen say they felt the need to support the people of Puerto Rico even though they live in Texas.

"For different reasons we had to leave our island but, our island and our people live in our hearts, and I wanted them to know that we are hear for them. Even when we are not there in the island," said Janet Pomale, the organizer.

This was just one of many protests demanding the governor's resignation after the leak of nearly 900 pages of messages that included profanity-laced, homophobic and misogynistic comments.
