HARKER HEIGHTS. TX — Bush's Chicken in Harker Heights has responded to a shooting that occurred at their restaurant.

The owner of the Bush’s Chicken restaurant in Harker Heights is encouraging anyone with knowledge of the two shooters that attacked his customer on Jan. 22 to notify authorities.

“Our condolences go out to the victim who was injured in this unfortunate event” said owner Joe Fugitt. “Based on video evidence, it appears the shooting was a targeted and isolated event. There was no attempt to rob the store.”

They say no other customers were in the restaurant at the time of the shooting an no employees of the chicken chain were in danger. Store video shows that the attack took place in a matter of 10 seconds before the assailants fled.

“Bush’s Chicken has a long tradition of being a good community partner,” said Fugitt. “On February 8th we will have a fundraiser for the Texas Crime Victim Compensation Fund here in Bell Country. We will donate 10% of our profits from that day to the fund. We encourage the public to stop by on Saturday, February 8th and support this worthy cause.”

Anyone who witnessed the shooting, recognized the two assailants, or has any information pertaining to the crime is asked to call the Harker Heights Criminal Investigation Division at (254) 953-5400.
