BELTON, TX — A Belton police officer is being treated for minor injuries after the patrol car he was in was struck on I-35.
Police said the crash happened around 6:30 a.m. this morning as he worked a traffic accident in the 1600 block of N. I-35.
The patrol car was blocking a lane of traffic as an accident was cleared from the roadway.
The unit was parked with its emergency lights on, when a vehicle failed in an attempt to drive between the police car and a semi-truck. The officer was transported by EMS.
