Belton Middle School was investigating a security concern on their campus on Jan. 23.
A notice was sent out to parents and guardians of Belton Middle School students that the school "had a report this afternoon of a security concern for our campus."
Dr. Robin Battershel, the Superintendent, says they received an anonymous alert tip regarding a possible threat at North Belton Middle School.
"BISD immediately investigated with no credible threat found," said Battershel. "Due to FERPA, the District is unable to provide details, however we have deemed the school to be safe."
"We are deeply appreciative for the initial tip. However, subsequent social media posts have been inaccurate. Please caution your students about the potential dangers of social media."
