BELL COUNTY, TX — As positive cases of COVID-19 spread across Texas, districts are extending school closures.
Lately, Kenneth Epps has been spending a lot more time with his grandchildren.
"[I] see them a lot more now than ever, and it's been enjoyable," said Epps.
Among a number of school districts across Central Texas, due to coronavirus concerns, Killeen ISD has extended its school closure another week. On Thursday, officials confirmed a total of five positive cases in Bell County.
"We do want to try to resume classes and a schedule of normalcy just as soon as we possibly can. Again, right now, that is just not feasible," said Superintendent Dr. John Craft during a press conference on Thursday.
The Killeen ISD school closure has been extended through Friday, March 27. Belton ISD has made the decision to extend school closures through Friday, April 3. Temple ISD will remain closed through the week of March 23-27.
