TEMPLE, TX — Baylor Scott & White's cancer treatment center is expanding.
The Temple location is clearing an area for the new radiation oncology facility.
Currently, patients are having to go to multiple locations within the hospital campus for various treatments, but this new facility will put everything they could need during their treatment under one roof.
"Whenever a patient has side effects of treatment, they can be referred and seen under one roof. They don't have to travel everywhere, and that is one big advantage that the Temple campus has that other campuses don't," said Dr. Niloyjyoti Deb, Chairman, radiation Oncology at Baylor Scott and White-Temple.
The new two-story, 27,000-square-foot facility is expected to be completed in the summer of 2021.
