TEMPLE, TX — After rumors surfaced on social media, 7 Seas Aquarium went to Facebook to clear some things up.
In November, the aquarium announced that they were going to be coming to the Temple Mall in January. It said it is an interactive aquarium with multiple exhibits.
Attractions included a lazy river boat ride and "touch pools," where kids could actually touch marine life.
Since the announcement, people have called the establishment a scam and have criticized it's delayed opening. These discussions lead the business to post on their Facebook page.
They said that the aquarium is going to open, but they are waiting on permission to assemble.
They said that the City of Temple asked for additions to the original unit in Temple Mall where they planned to assemble plug-and-play exhibits. Those additions would involve actual construction.
Now they are working with an architect this week to meet all the requirements given by the city.
They also assured that this is not a scam. They said if you are uncomfortable with pre-sale tickets, that you should wait until they open.
If you want a refund, they said that you should ask for one. Refunds take 5-7 business days.
We reached out to the city of Temple. They told us they still have not heard from the aquarium.
