BELTON, TX — The agreement with American Medical Response (AMR) to provide ambulance services in Belton starts on Tuesday.
The Belton City Council authorized the agreement back in August. The Belton Fire Department provided ambulance services for the city.
Now, ambulance services will be provided by AMR.
Belton Professional Firefighters posted on Facebook about the change on Tuesday:
"Today marks the beginning of a new era in Belton. AMR will take over EMS in Belton starting today. All the same firefighters you are used to seeing will still be here to assist them as they get settled in as well as handling all fire and rescue needs of the Belton citizens."
Under the agreement, AMR will lease Belton ambulances and operate out of Belton fire stations.
