BELTON. TX — By the end of the first week of April, thousands of rocks will be painted and distributed in the area.

Those involved shared it is all for a good cause.

The effort is called Rocking for Kids.

It includes a few hundred people that came together to help the Children's Advocacy Center of Central Texas.

The group's goal is to spread awareness about child abuse across the community through the information on each and every rock.

"We are painting rocks for Child Abuse Prevention Month in April. We are going to distribute 5,000 rocks throughout the community, and they all have the child abuse hotline reporting phone number written on the bottom so that people can find them in the community," said Crystal Daniel, outreach coordinator for the Children's Advocacy Center of Central Texas.

Once they find the rocks, people are encouraged to share them with someone, move them to a new location, or if they need it, they can keep it.
