KILLEEN, TX — A 5-year-old girl is in critical but stable condition after she was hit by a Jeep while attempting to cross Rancier Avenue Friday afternoon.
According to the Killeen Police Department, around 1:41 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Rancier Avenue for a vehicle versus pedestrian crash.
When officers arrived, they found a 5-year-old girl lying in the roadway.
She was flown to Baylor Scott & White Temple. She is in critical by stable condition.
Killeen PD says a preliminary investigation revealed that a 2015 Jeep Patriot, occupied by two people, was traveling westbound inside the lane when the child attempted to cross southbound and was hit.
No other injuries were reported.
