BELTON, TX — A Killeen man who was killed in a car wreck Wednesday morning has been identified as 41-year-old Jeremy Puryear, said police .
An earlier release stated that the man was 30-years-old. Police expressed regret over the error made at the scene.
Police said at 7:30 a.m., a man was driving a Ford Mustang on E. 6th avenue when the man's vehicle left the roadway west of the Temple-Belton Wastewater Treatment plant.
The vehicle then crashed into the fence of a temporary construction storage area. No other injuries were reported, according to police.
Police were waiting to release the identity of the man until they had notified his next of kin.
