KILLEEN, TX — A sex offender connected to a missing 16-year-old runaway has been arrested.
The Killeen Police Department, along with the U.S. Marshal's Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, arrested 26-year-old Shaukhiem Griffin for failure to comply with sex offender registration.
He was taken into custody without incident around 6:15 p.m. in the 4100 block of Elms Run Circle in Killeen.
Killeen PD says Griffin was a person of interest in connection with a missing 16-year-old from Killeen. The teenager has been in contact with family members and is not considered endangered at this time.
The department is continuing its effort to reunite the teen with her family.
The case is still under investigation, and more information will be released once it is available.
