KILLEEN, TX — Here at 25 News we are all about helping our community and today we had a chance to do it again!

With the help of the Scripps Howard Foundation, photojournalist Adam Schindler was able to present Families in Crisis in Killeen with a $2,000 check.

The donation was given to Families in Crisis to help provide food for their Friends in Crisis homeless shelter.

It's a gesture they say was both appreciated and much needed.

"The donation will be a real good shot in the arm that will go ahead and help us go ahead and better serve our clients,” Larry Moehnke, Families in Crisis Board Member said.

The Friends in Crisis homeless shelter is one of the only places some people can go for a meal and temporary shelter in Killeen.

The Scripps Howard Foundation and 25 News are dedicated to helping and bettering our community, and we are proud to be able to help the Friends in Crisis shelter today.
