KILLEEN, TX — A 16-year-old boy has been arrested in the shooting death of a teen in September.

Around 1:40 a.m. on Friday, September 25, Killeen PD officers were dispatched to a home in the 2500 block of Camp Cooper Drive in reference to a 911 call about a shooting victim.

When officers arrived, they found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers started to perform life-saving measures until paramedics arrived.

The victim, 18-year-old Damien Xavier Rocha-Torres, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 2:12 a.m. by Justice of the Peace Garland Potvin at the scene.

Through the investigation, detectives with the Homicide Unit identified a male juvenile suspect in the case.

Police say the suspect "recklessly" caused the death of Rocha-Torres by shooting him and concealing physical evidence, namely the firearm.

The case was screened by the Bell County Attorney's Office, Juvenile Division, and an arrest warrant was issued for manslaughter.

The suspect was arrested around 1:49 p.m. on November 17 and is currently in the Bell County Juvenile Detention Center.
