COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS — Snow and palm trees together isn't a sight you often see in Texas, but some college students spent the day soaking it up.

With the start of the Spring 2021 semester is nearly a week away, some Texas A&M students could be seen lingering around campus enjoying the snow Sunday afternoon.

The heavy snow didn't make its way to the area until late in the afternoon.

Junior Veronica Perez stayed in Aggieland during most of the break and says she hasn't seen this many people out and about on campus since finals.

"As soon as I saw snow, I was like, "I need to get dressed. This is a once-in-a-blue-moon. I am going to meet up with a friend. We are going to walk around campus, build snowmen and make snow angels,"" she said.

Lauren Varney, another Aggie, braved the storm with her favorite sidekick, a camera, and captured the unique sight.

"I just want to get a little bit of everything captured today because it's so pretty. We finally got our white Christmas, so I... and I think everybody is just loving that," she said.

As of late Sunday afternoon, no snowball fights could be found on campus, but some students say they hope they are in the works.
