Bryan and Rudder High School parents received a phone call from Bryan ISD on Wednesday regarding threats against the schools circulating on social media.
25 News was sent a screenshot from a photo on SnapChat that "heavily recommended" students to stay away from the schools on Thursday in reference to a shooting that could occur.
The district confirmed it is investigating the threats and has notified staff as well. Both schools will be reviewing safety and security protocols for Thursday.
The Bryan Police Department said it is actively investigating the threats and will increase police presence at both schools.
"We are actively investigating these threats and at this time we do not believe them to be credible," said the police department. "However, we take any threats such as these seriously and will work to ensure the safety of our community."
