COLLEGE STATION, TX — The coffee scene in Brazos County just got bigger, and 'bolder', thanks to West coast giant, Dutch Bros Coffee.
As their first location in the state of Texas, and their furthest location East in the county, Dutch Bros BCS Operator, Bryce Schneider, says College Station was the "perfect fit" for the first Lone Star location.

“This town really felt like us. It a young crowd, that just seems really excited and really inviting,” says Schneider.

On the evening of Jan 5., Dutch Bros held their soft opening, "Family and Friends", as they geared up for their grand opening on Friday, Jan 8.

Dutch Bros is located on Wellborn Road and Deacon drive, right next to the new Dunkin Donuts that has been a huge hit in the area. Dutch Brothers excited to provide another option for coffee and non-coffee lovers in Bryan-College Station.

“I think the really cool thing about us, is, you can completely customize your drink to you. It's really cool to see people, who might be attached to one thing, but they get to try something new each time they come here, because we offer so many different things. And, we don’t charge for those extra things. It encourages people to try something new, and step out of their comfort zone, when it comes to teas and coffees and milkshakes,” says Schneider.

On the night of Jan 5., College Station Mayor, Karl Mooney, stopped by to try the new coffee joint in town, he says seeing the growth of new businesses coming to the area during a global pandemic speaks for itself for how great the Brazos Valley is.

“The influx of new businesses really says what College Station is all about. We’ve said it before, people are still moving to College Station and they are finding more and more, especially in this covid era we’re in, that College Station is a great, stable community,” says Mooney.

As they prepare for their grand opening, customers will need to use the entrance off Deacon Drive to help with the flow of traffic, but Dutch Bros says they are prepared to handle long lines.

“We actually have real baristas outside, taking your order, walking you through the line. We are going to have five to ten people out here, taking orders, all the way down the line, and that includes running drinks out to people so they can have their drinks, and they can actually use the escape lane, and pull out of line before even getting to the window,” says Schneider.

Dutch Bros Coffee says the success of their first location will determine the roll out of other locations in both Bryan, and College Station, along with other cities throughout Texas.

If you missed their Jan 5. soft opening don’t worry, they will officially be open for business Friday morning, Jan 8, starting at 5 a.m.

Just remember to enter off of Deacon Drive.
