COLLEGE STATION, TX — Attention College Station ISD families!

The CSISD school board has announced, out of concern to COVID-19 hospitalizations, the following fund-raising events will be impacted on the 2021 school calendar.

On Jan 19. 2021, school and foundation board member, Jeff Horak, announced during a CSISD meeting that the Hall-of-fame banquet will be moved to March 1., and the scholarship banquet will now occur sometime in April.

Additionally, Horak announced the foundation's, '50 Men Who Can Cook' fundraiser, will be canceled.

Originally meant to be pushed to April, Horak stated during the meeting, " ...it didn't seem right to try to force something into the community, even though it's a big fundraiser." This will be the second year for the event to be canceled in a row, due to COVID-19.

However, Horak added he still believes the event, "... will be bigger and better than ever in Feb. of 2020."

Despite these setbacks for the community, Horak noted happily that, 'Chrissy's Closet', a local volunteer event to distribute supplies to students and staff in need is, "... still rocking and rolling in the best way we can this year."

In his closing remarks on these matters, Horak maintained his optimism, stating by 2022, "... we are back on schedule for then, and we're hoping to make it bigger, and better, and regain some normalcy by then."
