According to a report by AdvisorSmith, College Station ranks #9 on the safest "large" city list for Texas.

To get this ranking, AdvisorSmith applied a multiplier to each type of crime, taking into account the severity
when multiplying the score.

From there, they added up the levels of crime in each city and divided it by their population to create the final safety score. College station's population of 116,218 (2018), fit the (100,000+) "large" city category.

All data in this report represented crimes reported to law enforcement & published by the Federal Bureau of Investigation during the calendar year 2019.

They found the "average" crime score for Texas cities was 48, with all scores ranging between 6 to 371.

Among large cities, the average score for crime was 69.
The safest large city in Texas was Sugar Land at 19.

Amarillo earned 205, making it the highest reported crime score in the "large" Texas city category.
