Bryan man previously arrested for sexual abuse of child has additional charge added

MADISONVILLE, TX — A 46-year-old Bryan man has been arrested for sexual abuse of a child and Madisonville Police believe there could be more victims.

The Madisonville Police Department conducted a search warrant and arrest warrant at 814 South May Street (Highway 75 South) El Mercadito Store on Feb. 26 after a month-long investigation.

During the search warrant, the owner, Jose Jaime Rivera of Bryan, was arrested on five felony charges.

The charges were 2 counts of sexual assault of child, 1 count of aggravated sexual assault of a child, 1 count of sexual abuse of a child continuous: victim under 14, 1 count of indecency with a child by sexual assault.

Rivera was booked into the Madison County Jail and later bonded out on $195,000.00.

On April 19, Madisonville PD announced that another charge for indecency with a child by sexual contact has been filed against Rivera. According to their Facebook page, Rivera turned himself into the Madison County Jail around 9 A.M. today and was later released on a $20,000 bond.
