COLLEGE STATION, TX — Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - College Station, will be included in the Phase I distribution for the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine; they will be the only Brazos Valley hospital included in Phase I.
The Texas Department of State Health Services submitted 109 hospitals in 34 counties to the CDC for said consideration.
With limited quantity, information provided by Pfizer will be used to determine how many health care workers can get vaccinated and storage conditions for the drug.
Said hospital could receive 975 doses, and Texas could receive roughly 225,000 doses in their first shipment. However, this will be contingent on vaccine approvals and authorization for use in the United States.
Health care and front line workers are expected to receive these first doses. It has yet to be announced when Texas will receive more vaccines.
